About VitalSource Bookshelf Online
 VitalSource Bookshelf® is the most advanced e-book software in the world. Notes and highlights automatically stay in sync no matter where you make them.The best-known higher education textbooks, study guides, classics, and more are now available through Bookshelf.

In general VitalSource will support two versions of a Web Browser; the current version and one back. The attached table outlines the status of each browser. Browser support will be reviewed and updated every six months.

Fully Supported
Microsoft IE 8 | 9
Firefox 8 | 9
Safari 4 | 5
Google Chrome 15 | 16
 Partial Support
Microsoft IE 7
 Limited Support
Microsoft IE 6
Full Support:Bookshelf Online will display and function properly when viewed with any browser in the Fully Supported column.
Partial Support:All major functionality should work and the layout is approximately correct when Bookshelf Online is viewed with a browser in the Partial Support column.
Limited Support:Content will appear on the pages; however the UI display and product functionality may be different to the browsers listed under the Fully Supported column.


No Support:The following browsers are not supported. Content may appear on the pages; however the UI display and product functionality may be different to the browsers listed under the Fully Supported column:
  • Microsoft IE 5 or earlier
  • Mozilla Firefox 5 and earlier
  • Apple Safari 3 and earlier
  • Google Chrome 12 and earlier
  • Opera (any version)
  • Any Browser not listed in the Browser Support Matrix

Mobile Browser Support:VitalSource has limited mobile support. iOS users should use Bookshelf for iOS, that is available in the iTunes app store. Android customers are encouraged to join the beta testing program Bookshelf for Android.
