Bookshelf 5.3.4 Release Notes - Windows

  • Fix for printing images with the correct size and spacing in Dash books.
  • Printing improvements for PDF based books.
  • Remove the header / footer when printing PBKs with Bookshelf or Evolve eBooks. This results in a slightly larger rendered page and may also improve text legibility.
  • Reduced the default margins for printing to optimize PBK print output.
  • Fix for a rare rendering issue where text becomes crowded. The back matter in the book Discovering Geometry: An Investigative Approach (vbk:9781559538824) demonstrated this bug.
  • Change the wording in the enable note syncing message to reference Bookshelf for iOS.
  • A couple additional error handlers based on crash report feedback.
There are two types of installers for our Microsoft Windows customers:

The Standard Installer: contains everything needed to install VitalSource Bookshelf, and if needed will download all the components of Microsoft .Net 3.5SP1 that are needed to run Bookshelf.

The combo installer: contains everything needed for installing VitalSource Bookshelf and everything needed to install Microsoft .Net 3.5SP1 in one container. The installer will not need to downloaded anything else to install Bookshelf on your computer. This installer should only be downloaded if you have had issues downloading/installing Microsoft .Net 3.5 SP1 through the Standard Installer.
