About Resources

Resource are an additional resource that accompanies an eTextbook These resources are created and maintained by the publisher.

  • If you purchase a book with an accompanying Resource, follow the steps outlined below to access the Resource.
  • If you are attending an institution that provides your eTextbooks, then please contact your institution's support to find out if a Resource is available for your book.
  • If your book does not include a Resource, please communicate with the publisher for more information on purchasing a Resource. 

Note: Not all eTextbooks have accompanying Resources.

Accessing Resources

Available Resources are accessible from the VitalSource Account Center. Follow the steps below to access the Account Center from any of the Bookshelf® Clients:

Accessing Resource in Bookshelf Online
  1. Log into Bookshelf online at https://bookshelf.vitalsource.com.
  2. Using your mouse, click the ‘User Account’ icon in the top-right corner to access the User Account menu.



  3. Click on the "Resources" button.
  4. The Resources page lists any accessible resources. Click the > button, to access available resources.



  5. Click the Download button to access the resources on your computer.



  6. To return to the resources page, click the Resources button. To go back to Bookshelf Online, close the Account Center tab.

If you do not see the Resources button in User Account menu, click on the Manage in the Bookshelf Menu and then click Update Library.
Accessing Resource in Bookshelf Mobile (iOS, Android, and Kindle fire):
  1. Tap the Main Menu button  on your mobile device.
  2. Tap the My Account button. In a new window, your account information is displayed.



  3. Tap the Main Menu button again and then Tap on the Resources button.



  4. The Resources page lists any accessible resources. Click the > button, to access available resources.



  5. Tap the Download button to access the Resource on your device.



  6. To return to the resources page, click the Resources button. To go back to Bookshelf, close the Account Center Window.
Accessing Resource in Bookshelf Desktop (PC + Mac):
  1. Click on the Account Menu, then click on My Account...
  2. A new browser window will open with your account information displayed in the Account Center.
  3. Click on the "Resources" button.
  4. The Resources page lists any accessible resources. Click the > button, to access available resources.
  5. Click the Download button to access the resources on your computer.
  6. To access your Resource, locate the downloaded resource in your Download Folder.  Double-click on it to open it.  
  7. To return to the resources page, click the Resources button. To go back to Bookshelf Online, close the Account Center tab.
