Bookshelf 7 vs 8 Preferences
Bookshelf 7 for Apple Desktop\Laptop computers had a “Preferences...” option under the Bookshelf top menu bar; however, this is not present with Bookshelf 8. Not to worry, almost all the options that were in Bookshelf 7’s “Preferences...” still exists in Bookshelf 8.

General tab had the option to choose what sound to make when an eBooks download is complete. The option has been removed and defaults to the macOS sound

This option is now available within the textbook at the bottom toolbar to the right (Paper\Paperclip icon). For Bookshelf to access online links, Bookshelf online must be used. Visit https://bookshelf.vitalsource.com/ > Login > open an eBook > click on the Paper\Paperclip icon on the bottom toolbar to the right.
