I am dropping files into Upload but I don't see them on the table.

Your files may not be of a supported filetype. Upload only supports PDF and ePub files for content, and XLS and XLSX files for metadata.

I clicked cancel on the metadata import box - Where did my file go?

Don't worry, your metadata template is still on your computer. Simply drop the file in again and you will receive the import prompt again.

The portal told me my sheet was missing required data - What does that mean?

The following fields are required for all rows in your metadata template: VBID, Title, Imprint, Print ISBN, Author Name, Author Last Name, Edition, Description, Publication Date, In US Store.

If any of the above fields are missing, the template will be rejected.

I received an email from Manage with a list of errors in my template - What now?

All listed errors must be resolved, and an updated template submitted. Clicking the link in the email will download an error sheet with only the items that have errors. Error messages will be listed in column A.

You can make corrections directly on this sheet and resubmit it through Upload, but do not remove rows 1 through 3. They must be present for proper validation.

I don't have an Imprint - What do I do?

Please contact your customer success manager to discuss options for submitting without an Imprint.

How do I find my Imprint ID?   Please contact your customer success manager for any Imprint IDs you require.

Where can I find the newest metadata template?

Please contact your customer success manager for the most recent metadata template.

My VBID is marked with a yellow caution icon.

Upload is unable to find the VBID specified. There may be a few reasons for this:

  • Your file is named incorrectly. Upload will initially try to use the filename as the VBID. Double-check your file is named properly. If you do not wish to use your filename as the VBID, click the X button and type in your own.
  • The VBID entered was not found in your catalog. Only VBIDs belonging to your company will be available for you to select. The VBID may be valid but belongs to another company.
  • The VBID does not exist yet. If this was a VBID you have not yet created, please submit a metadata template for it before trying to associate a source file to the VBID.

Clicking the caution icon will attempt to associate your search term with an existing VBID. If found, the icon will switch to a green check.
