How to access VitalSource Helps 

For students and instructors accessing Bookshelf for the first time:

  1. Go to https://bookshelf.vitalsource.com/user/registration
  2. Fill out the form in full, make sure to use your institution-provided email address, and click the Create button
  3. Confirm you account by finding the, "Please verify your VitalSource Bookshelf account" email and clicking the "Confirm Your Email" button.
  4. Once you are in Bookshelf, click the Explore button to search our expansive catalog and borrow up to seven (7) eBooks. 

For students and instructors with existing Bookshelf accounts linked to their institution-provided email address:

  1. Go to https://bookshelf.vitalsource.com/
  2. Sign in using your institution-provided email address
  3. Once you are in Bookshelf, click the Explore button to search our expansive catalog and borrow up to seven (7) eBooks. 

For students and instructors with existing Bookshelf accounts NOT linked to their institution-provided email address:

If you have an existing VitalSource account that you did tie to your institution-provided email address please do the following:

  1. Go to https://bookshelf.vitalsource.com/
  2. Sign in using Bookshelf with your existing credentials
  3. Click on the Account menu, and then click on User Info
  4. Change your email address to your institution-provided email address, and click the Save Button.
  5. Close the VitalSource Account Center Tab
  6. Sign out of Bookshelf and then sign back in using your institution-provided email address and existing password. 
  7. Once you are in Bookshelf, click the Explore button to search our expansive catalog and borrow up to seven (7) eBooks. 

Who is eligible for the VitalSource Helps program?

You are eligible if you meet the following criteria:

  1. You attend a 2 year or 4 year institution on a semester-based schedule that is listed here:
  2. You have an institution-provided email address
  3. You are currently enrolled in or teaching a semester-based course(s) that began prior to March 16, 2020.
