Installing Bookshelf for Windows

Here’s what you need to do to update your Windows PC to the latest version of Bookshelf.

  • Tap the Windows Download Button to go directly to the Bookshelf download page in the Microsoft Store. Or on your PC, open the Microsoft Store, and search for "Bookshelf."
  • Click the Install button and tap the Accept button. You may be prompted to sign in to your Microsoft Account.

Check Compatibility

If your Windows PC runs Windows 10 (64-bit x86) version 10.0.16299 or later, you can update to the latest version of Bookshelf.

Please note: At this time Bookshelf for Windows will not run on the Surface Pro X.

Sign In to Bookshelf

You will need to sign into Bookshelf to see all of your eTextbooks. If you don't know the email address you used with VitalSource or password, we can help.

If you forgot your VitalSource Credentials visit the Password Retrieval Page.

Deactivate unused devices

If you have two active mobile devices, make sure that you deactivate unused devices so you can update to the latest version of Bookshelf.
