Bookshelf eTextBook Citation

How do I create a Citation in an eTextBook in Bookshelf?

The Citation function is within the Table of Content's view an eTextBook in Bookshelf. Select the following icon when the Table of Content is open.

Note: The Table of Content View and Citation may not be available due to our Partnering Publisher's choice to not include page numbers within their source file. VitalSource cannot update a source file because the publisher owns the copyrighted material.

That will show the following menu.

Selecting Citation will give you the following options.

 

Select type of citation menu

 

Check for accuracy before use

 

MLA

Last name, First name. Title of Book. (Edition of book if later than 1st ed). Website name. Publisher name, Year of publication.

 
APA

Last name, First Initial. Second Initial. Year of Publication. Title of Book (Edition of book if later than 1st ed). Publisher name.

 
 Harvard
Last name, First Initial. Year of Publication. Title of Book. Edition. Publication location: Publisher, Page(s).
 
Vancouver
Last name and initials. Title of Book. (Edition of book if later than 1st ed). Publication location: Publisher name; Year of publication.

 

Please note: The desktop (Mac/Windows) apps have citations that can be accessed from the menu in the table of contents like the screenshot below: (The mobile apps (iOS and Android) do not have this option)

***The citations in the apps don’t completely align with the citations we have in Online, our developers are working on getting this updated within the next few months.***
